Director Transportation and Planning
The Director of Transportation and Planning is responsible for leading Transportation & Planning strategies to maximize capacity efficiencies, driving revenue growth, and ensuring safe and profitable operations that meet customer expectations. You will collaborate with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction is a top priority across the organization.

Your role on the team:
- Leads all Transportation and Planning functions—including route planning, driver settlements, dispatching, and maintenance—to ensure operations have the resources required to meet company goals
- Oversees acquisition and disposal of fleet assets, negotiates contracts, evaluates vendors, and ensures compliance with budgets
- Oversees all driver related operations, ensures optimal driver utilization, routes efficiency and on time delivery performance
- Drives KPIs and develops resource plans to optimize fleet utilization, maximize profitability, and minimize vehicle downtime
- Ensures all planning and timely deliveries align with company policies, destination requirements, and expected quantities
- Analyzes and revises schedules and rates to lower costs, maximize sales, and improve the organization’s competitive market position
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and field operations to promote expanded services and resolve customer concerns through frequent communication
- Supports GEODIS’ programs for Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Ethics, Compliance, CSR and Sustainability
- Other duties as required and assigned
What you need: (requirements)
Experience
- Minimum 7 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- • Experience in the retail industry preferred
- • Experience with pool distribution and consolidation programs preferred
- • Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
